Die neue Relativitätstheorie
Mit Hilfe einer mathematischen Formel können Frauen künftig die optimale Absatzhöhe für ihre hochhackigen Schuhe errechnen. Ausgehend von der Schuhgröße
ermittelt die Formel des internationalen Institute of Physics, wie hoch ein Absatz maximal sein darf, damit die Frau nicht stürzt oder gesundheitliche Schäden
davonträgt.
In die Formel h = Q(12+3s/8) fließen dabei neben Aspekten wie Schuhgröße (s) oder Preis der Schuhe auch "weiche" Faktoren wie etwa die Vorliebe für
hochhackige Schuhe oder die Erfahrung mit dem Tragen von Pumps mit ein, die sich in der Variablen Q wiederfinden.
"Obwohl die Formel auf den ersten Blick verrückt aussieht, ist sie eigentlich relativ einfach. Sie basiert auf der Theorie von Pythagoras, die jeder in der Schule
gelernt hat", sagte der Physiker Paul Stevenson von der britischen Universität Surrey.
Die Variable Q beschreibe einen soziologischen Faktor. "Dieser Teil der Formel erklärt, was Frauen schon immer wussten, nämlich dass man keine Schuhe kauft,
nur weil sie bequem sind, man sie sich leisten kann oder sie gut aussehen - es kommen noch viele weitere Variablen hinzu." Eine der wichtigen Fragen ist etwa, wie
viel Alkohol die Frau an einem Abend trinken will: Eine zuvor errechnete "sichere" Absatzhöhe kann damit schnell gefährlich werden.
So kann sich die von Sarah Jessica Parker gemimte Lifestyle-Ikone Carrie Bradshaw aus der Fernsehserie "Sex and the City" als routinierte Absatz-Trägerin der
Formel zufolge nüchtern noch auf beeindruckenden zwölf Zentimeter hohen Stilettos sicher bewegen. Nach sechs Cocktails schrumpft ihre sichere Absatzhöhe der
Berechnung nach dagegen auf zwei Zentimeter.
Die Physikerin Laura Grant von der Universität in Liverpool ist begeistert. "Endlich kann ich die Wahrscheinlichkeit minimieren, mit meinen Schuhen umzuknicken",
sagte sie. Sie besitzt nach eigenen Angaben mehr als 100 Paar Schuhe.
Exakt berechnet sich der soziologische Faktor Q = v(j+9)P / 1,5(m+1)(A+1)(j+10)(20+P/1,5).
v: die Vorliebe der Frau für hohe Schuhe (zwischen 0 - 1: wobei 0=Hausschuhe und 1=highest heels)
j: die Zahl der Jahre, die sie Erfahrung im Tragen hoher Absätze hat
P: der Preis der Schuhe in britischen Pfund
m: die Zahl der Monate die vergangen ist, seitdem das Paar topmodisch war (0=immer noch trendy)
A: die Einheiten Alkohol, die die Frau zu trinken plant (1=ein Cocktail/Bier, 2=zwei Cocktails/Bier usw.)
s: Die Schuhgröße: muss in britischen Einheiten eingesetzt werden, dabei entspricht 36 in etwa 3,5, 38 in etwa 5 und 40 in etwa 6,5.
Zwei Beispiele für Carrie Bradshaw:
1) Wenn Carrie Bradshaw, eine äußerst erfahrene high-heels Trägerin (schätzungsweise 5 Jahre Erfahrung), ihre neuesten hinreisend todschicken Designer Schlappen trägt, kann sie sich noch sicher und elegant mit einer Absatzhöhe von 12.5 Zentimeter fortbewegen:
Schuhgröße s=6 (39), v=1, j=5, P= £300, m=0, A=0 ergibt einen Q Faktor von 0.88
--> Absatzhöhe ist 12.54 cm
2) Wenn sie sich jedoch einige Cocktails hinter die Binde giest, fällt die sichere high-heel Höhe (und vermutlich auch Carrrie), auf flaches Terrain danieder. Benutzt man das gleiche Beispiel wie unter 1, geht Carrie aber davon aus, dass sie am Abend 6 Cocktails zu sich nehmen will, dann ist sie besser beraten auf eine Absatzhöhe von 2cm zu wechseln um vielleicht Schlimmeres zu verhindern.
