Wollt da grad posten, aber mich hat's genervt, jedes zweite Wort im Wörterbuch nachsuchen zu müssen... ich kann mich halt eifnach nciht einfach ausdrücken :D
Dennoch, miram, was ich dir (auf Deutsch :D) dort schreiben wollte, hier:
miram, denk dran, du sprichst mit US-Amerikanern. Du kannst die Situation nicht einfach mit deinen Erfahrungen (" I don't know very many people that can defend them or others with fighting technics or so. So this "victim" class must be pretty big...") oder Schätzungen, die für Deutschland gelten ("How often will you be in such a situation? Maybe one or two times in your live. Most possibly never. Most of the time it's enough to just call the police. Or to shout something like "help" or "fire" or so.") argumentieren. In den USA ist es nunmal leider so, dass solch bedrohliche Situationen, besonders in gewissen Vierteln, alltäglich sind. Ich kann es verstehen, wenn die sich da lieber mit irgendwelchen Selbstverteidigungsarten oder gar Waffen zu helfen versuchen. Allerdings machen die hier auch den Fehler, dass sie vom US-Amerikanischen Standpunkt aus argumentieren. Man könnte also sagen, ihr vergleicht Äpfel mit Birnen.

Aber stimmt schon. Nur kann man denen schwer klar machen das es wohl auch anders gehen müsste. Aber dein Argument wird jetzt gnadenlos assimiliert und übernommen :D
